Vision

We envision the ‘Hiburim’ project as the opportunity to provide those of varied socioeconomic, religious and cultural identity with a unique program of live-long skill development. The program exists within Yerucham, a multi-faceted community that provides broad experiences for the participants. The goal is to mainstream the students into Israeli life.

Activity

The program encompasses full economic support. A key component is tutoring students daily, on an individual basis both academically and in all aspects of their volunteer, community and leadership development. In addition, this program goes well beyond grades 7 through 12, by preparing students for their matriculation examinations and meaningful army or civil service placement.

Family involvement in the school and the broader community is encouraged, so that the program’s impact also effects the developing role of religious women in the Negev.
