Vision
I believe that a just and prosperous community is one in which each person has an equal right and opportunity to express her strengths and talents together with her questions and doubt, and to follow her interests and calling. These rights have to be a daily practice, a daily expression. Our task as educators is to provide the right environment in which such a community could thrive, in which children could learn and be happy, in which self fulfillment is available to all.
Activity
Givall is a democratic-community school that was established on September 2006, in Givat Olga, an underprivileged neighborhood in Hadera, by a group of enthusiastic educators, the city mayor and the ministry of education. Givall was established with the purpose of providing high standard education to children from low socioeconomic background by means of inversed integration (i.e. half of the students live in the neighborhood, and half of them live in other neighborhoods in Hadera or other settlements in the region). We now have three hundred and forty students from kindergarten till K-12.
The children choose their schedules, with emphasis on their interests, they participate in the democratic life, and they get close, caring support from a very special, idealistic team.
