Vision
Safa Hadasha (New language) is an innovative online journal and platform, the first of its kind in Israel. Born in the aftermath of October 7 and the multifaceted trauma within Israeli society, currently still in a state of war, the project seeks to foster intellectual creation and dialogue, offering a new framework for understanding the world.
The core objective of Safa Hadasha is the generation of a comprehensive and interdisciplinary conversation about the fundamental questions facing Israeli society. We seek to offer a moral horizon capable of addressing the ongoing trauma and moving forward with both clarity and hope. This is an intellectual and cultural endeavor rooted in immense concern for the future—not just of Israeli society but that of the world at large.
Activity
The journal features a variety of content, including essays, articles, audio works, and visual art. This platform serves as both a stage and a laboratory, where individuals from diverse communities in Israel come together with the aim of healing societal rifts and proposing a new language to articulate reality.
The online journal is updated on a continuous basis, including the site Facebook page and newsletter. On the seventh day of each second month, a new and complete edition is made public which centers on a core issue selected by the editorial staff.
In addition to journal editions, our staff initiates and organizes conferences, cultural events, and content presentation to the Israeli public.
