Vision
The “Maison du Shabbat » project aims to go directly to the goal of strengthening the young person’s Jewish identity.
Indeed, nothing is equivalent to experiencing a Shabbat in a pleasant atmosphere and setting, with great meals, songs, direct exchanges and debates, rest and friendship. We have noticed that no one remains insensitive to the experience of a Shabbat in an authentic Jewish atmosphere.
Activity
Every week Olami Marseille offers conferences, torah lectures for girls and boys, sports and cultural activities, trips, etc.
In June 2024, we proposed a shabbaton for students, Torah lectures on Tuesdays for girls and on Wednesdays for boys, a conference on Sundays with meal and diverse porting, cultural and leisure activities on Thursdays, a girls night every Rosh Hodesh and a cafeteria opened every day.
As many young people do not have the privilege of experiencing an authentic Shabbat with their parents, we decided to initiate a project called “Maison du Shabbat”.
The “Maison du Shabbat” (Shabbos house) becomes students’second home for the entire shabbat. The quality of reception is extremely well cared for, whether in terms of accommodation or room quality like an hotel, shabbatical meals of catering quality, with the best speakers and the nicest fun activities. They spend the entire shabbat there.
This project is aimed at students and young people who come from families who do not respect Shabbat or a little.
It allows them to experience a real shabbat together.
