Vision

A biannual Prize awarded to the authors of the two best original books in Jewish Thought, published in Hebrew in the previous two years, suitable for a wide readership. The prize aims to encourage the publication of excellent books in the field accessible to a wide audience, including outside the academic environment, advance innovative ideas in the field of Jewish thought, and raise the interest in Jewish thought among the wider public.

Activity

The Ben-Zvi Institute for the Study of Jewish Communities in the East will award a biannual Prize to the authors of the two best original books in Jewish Thought published in Hebrew. Each of the prices will amount to 12,500 USD. The Institute will establish a protocol for the prize, create a CfA for the prize and publicize it widely, nominate a prize committee, headed by the head of the Institute, which will review the candidates and pronounce the winners. It will set a date for a formal award event, in which the prize winners will present their work. The event will receive publication, as well as PR efforts.
