Vision
This program aims to foster integration between students of various backgrounds and languages. It explores the role of oral testimony in the legal system, questioning credibility, trust, and how social status affects testimony. It also addresses how “fake news” challenges trust in today’s world. Students will deepen their study of Jewish texts, engaging with both traditional and contemporary perspectives, while promoting an inclusive, pluralistic approach to Judaism.
Activity
The Ta Shma Study Circle was founded in 2019 with the aim of creating and developing an egalitarian, dynamic French community engaged in the study of Jewish sources, combining academic and traditional approaches. It seeks to be a place of exchange, debate, and reflection on contemporary societal issues, as well as an anchor point for French people living in Israel.
Ta Shma offers weekly study sessions in Jerusalem and monthly sessions in Tel Aviv, evenings around religious and civil holidays, as well as online courses. Every year in July, it organizes a two-week intensive study program, with classes, workshops, visits, and meetings with field actors. The association also produces digital content: podcasts, videos, and online resources.
