Vision

As we look down our educational path beyond the conclusion of this challenging year, we see a need for a pause for reflection and learning. From a place of deeply felt responsibility for our future and for Israeli society, we seek to spark a deep discourse in the mechina world that will draw lessons from recent events while addressing essential issues and our common destiny.

Activity

A two-day (retreat like) workshop at which we will disconnect from our routine of intense activity, breathe, and clear some time for a deep, meaningful discourse about the future of our enterprise and our educational path. With courage and honesty, we will attempt to understand our current situation as a society, and as an educational enterprise we will identify the goals and objectives that we wish to attain. Rather than make do with specifying a vision and objectives, we will discuss how we can make them a reality, as well as the implications and consequences for planning the next academic year with greater focus and clarity.

Avishai Berman

Avishai Berman is a founder and former head of Mechinat Arava and former CEO of Arava Spirit. Berman served as a combat soldier and officer in the General Staff Reconnaissance Unit. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Jewish philosophy and business administration from the Hebrew University, and a master’s degree in public policy and management from Ben-Gurion University. After his army service, Berman became curious about the mechina world and spent two years as a counselor at the Ein Prat Academy for Leadership. He then moved with his family to the Arava, where he managed and led the establishment of Mechinat Arava.
