Mini Brussels Jewish International Film Festival 2024

Belgium

Vision

In these disturbed times for the world, and Jews in particular, IMAJ is willing to bring a shortened program festival that will offer a view on the diversity/the fragmentation of the Jewish identities and stories. Therefore, we will program Israeli, Polish and French feature and documentary films addressing various aspects of Jewishness, and the challenges of being Jewish throughout history and places.

Activity

Since its creation in 1984, IMAJ has participated in the effort to identify, promote and screen films about Jewish culture and history.

Little-known films and treasures of cinematic heritage are thus featured in our festivals, premières, and other events such as conferences or debates.

IMAJ currently has the most comprehensive database in French devoted to Jewish-themed cinema, aimed at promoting films related to Jewish history and life, Judaism in all its aspects, as well as genocides and crimes against humanity.
This valuable tool for any institution, school or private party, is enriched on a daily basis with new information on films that are coming out or have been released.
Finally, it is to IMAJ that we owe the existence and organization of the Brussels Jewish International Film Festival, an event bringing together the best of classic and contemporary cinema around questions relating to Jewishness.

IMAJ is also a reflection on film, an effort to feed the public with multiple and plural images of the Jewish World, in order to always fight stereotypes.

IMAJ is acting as a responsible citizen, to promote cultural diversity, and build bridges with others. In order to promote intercultural and intercommunity dialogue.
