Mechavnot Gavoha – Aiming Higher

Israel

    Aiming Higher

Vision

Mechavnot Gavoha – Aiming Higher is a course for rising female leaders in the Modern Orthodox community. The first cohort includes 11 participants, each of whom have already established a distinguished reputation. This program will increase the number of Modern Orthodoxy’s women leaders who feel connected to Tzohar. Participants will be offered the opportunity to serve as “Tzohar ambassadors” in the media and public forums.

Activity

Mechavnot Gavoha – Aiming Higher is an eight-session course designed to prepare emerging female leaders for public and communal leadership roles. Each session includes two learning units and focuses on three central areas.

The first area is image-building and communication. Participants learn how to shape a confident public presence across media platforms, including public speaking, storytelling, and effective writing for op-eds, holiday and parasha articles, and contemporary religious commentary. The program also provides practical guidance in using social media and creating and promoting podcasts.

The second area focuses on perspective. Participants deepen their understanding of Jewish identity and key social issues in Israeli society, while becoming familiar with Tzohar’s values and approach. Through the study of Jewish sources, they explore models of leadership, with particular attention to women’s leadership.

The third area emphasizes hands-on practice. Participants apply the tools they acquire by writing articles and social media posts, taking part in simulated panel discussions, and receiving structured peer and professional feedback.

Following the conclusion of the course, participants receive ongoing mentoring and support to help them address individual challenges and succeed in their leadership roles.
