Vision

We envision and aim to cultivate the next generation of Jewish leaders, in the form of an international cadre of knowledgeable, open minded, caring students with intercultural sensitivity and a dynamic and pluralistic sense of Jewish identity, who are dedicated to making the world a better and more peaceful place and are equipped with the skill-set necessary to tackle present global challenges.

Activity

Boyar International is an International Baccalaureate (IB) school in Jerusalem for multinational youth from Israel and from Jewish communities abroad, aged 16-18. It offers a rich interdisciplinary curriculum in English that culminates in an internationally-recognized IB diploma, accepted by all institutes of higher education in the world. Schooling takes place within a residential framework (combined with a day-residence for Jerusalem residents), providing a holistic academic and social experience. The standard academic IB curriculum is enriched with topics relating to Jewish nationhood and identity, familiarization with the traditional Jewish bookshelf and diverse Jewish cultural perspectives, and Hebrew language lessons. It emphasizes pluralism, Jewish peoplehood, in-depth learning, and international awareness, to cultivate a sense of responsibility for local and global challenges and the dilemmas they present for the individual and the community, and strengthen the value of tikkun olam. With the support of Matanel Foundation, Boyar International aims to grow its student body by 10% annually over the next three years, to further diversity it by admitting growing numbers of youth from European Jewish communities, and to launch an international network of Jewish IB schools.
