Vision
Yahad – in Unum has three aims : To restore dignity to thousands of Jews and Roma who were murdered and trown into mass graves; to fight against Holocaust denial; to disseminate information on this episode, almost totally absent from history books.
Activity
Yahad in Unum is the leading research organization investigating the mass executions of 2.2 million Jews and an unknown number of Roma/Gypsy people in Eastern Europe between 1941 and 1944. This is sometimes referred to as “The Holocaust by Bullets,” the title of a book written by Yahad’s president, Father Patrick Desbois. While the atrocities of the concentration camps are well-known, this genocide perpetrated as far east as Ukraine is not. To increase awareness of this episode, the first European Resource Centre on the “Holocaust by Bullets” has just opened in Paris, bringing together all the primary and secondary sources discovered in Eastern Europe.
