Activity
The mission of the Israel Parkinson’s Association is to improve the quality of life of patients suffering from Parkinson’s disease and their family members in Israel. IPA helps PD patients, and their family members cope with the challenges of the chronic and incurable progressive disease. It provides holistic support, treatment services and various health care and welfare related activities to PD patients throughout Israel. Patients benefit from access to IPA’s Hotline and a web-based resource center with educational lectures on symptoms management. It offers relevant medical information on PD, legal counselling, assistance in realizing patient rights, patient-centered care, rehabilitation therapies, wellness and exercise activities throughout Israel. It also manages ParkiNet, an online platform delivering combined health therapies that provide 13 types of exercise activities essential for PD patients in order to prevent the deterioration of their condition. IPA subsidizes the participation fees for all rehabilitation programs and offers various telecare subscription packages to facilitate access to treatments, rehabilitation and health care programs that help patients manage the symptoms of the chronic and progressive disease and alleviate social isolation. It also serves a growing community of hundreds of young PD patients aged 20-50.
