Vision

This conference aims to promote the image of the HUJ and of the State of Israel in Europe and to give the opportunity for our friends to meet along the week end with other friends from all over the world as well as participating in an intellectual enriching conference.

Activity

The Friends of the HUJ are organizing once every two years a major conference in Europe bringing together 200 to 300 guests from the worlds of politics, business, arts and science. The conferences which deal with a different subject are covered by local media and involves local political and intellectual figures.

One of the best way to promote Israel in Europe

Yoram Cohen

Since 1996, Yoram Cohen is the Associate Vice-President for Europe of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. He is responsible of promoting and developing the activities of the Hebrew University in Europe, including the scientific cooperation at the regional and governmental level. He is also in charge of winning new friends and raising targeted funds as well as driving a positive reputation for the European Friends and the Hebrew University.
Since 1991, Yoram Cohen serves as a Private Consultant for several European families and foundations for their philanthropic activies in Europe and Israel.
From 1985 to 1987, he served as an Economic Adviser for the Nativ Consulting Group, where he was in charge of assessing worldwide educational jewish projects for the Jewish Agency. He was then Project Director of the educational program ‘Mifgashim’ at the Bronfman Foundation in Israel from 1987 to 1989 as well as Project Director of the Doron Foundation (Rich Corporation – ZUG) in Israel from 1989 to 1996.
Yoram Cohen has graduated from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem where he obtained a Bachelor in International Relations a Master degree in Marketing and business as well as a Master degree in Education and Contemporary Jewish Studies.
He is also a graduate from the Brandeis University (Boston), in the field of Jewish Communal service (MA) and followed philanthropic courses at Harvard University through the Boston Foundation, and at the John Hopkins University (Baltimore).
