Vision
To create a joyful and inclusive space that celebrates the richness of Jewish Mediterranean cultures and opens them to the wider community. Rooted in dialogue and encounter, the festival invites audiences to experience a living heritage through music, food, art, humour and storytelling—from ladino melodies and oriental jazz to culinary traditions, creative workshops and thought-provoking talks.
Set in the heart of Aix-en-Provence, the program brings together artists, thinkers and families for a shared journey across the Mediterranean, where cultures meet, influence one another and continue to evolve.
In a world marked by division, the project fosters curiosity, transmission and connection, offering a space where identities are discovered as bridges rather than boundaries.
Activity
Maison Armand Lunel is a cultural non-profit organization based in Aix-en-Provence, dedicated to celebrating and transmitting Jewish cultures through artistic, educational and civic programming. Its mission is to foster knowledge, dialogue and creativity around Jewish heritage, with a focus on cultural expression accessible to all. Through exhibitions, workshops, talks, performances and intergenerational events, the organization promotes a vibrant and plural vision of Jewish identity, rooted in the values of openness, inclusion and dialogue.
LEHAÏM is the association’s flagship initiative. Co-designed by a team of volunteers, the festival has quickly established itself as a key cultural event in Aix-en-Provence. Following a successful first edition, the second edition explores Jewish Mediterranean cultures, highlighting their diversity, shared histories and contemporary expressions.
Through music, gastronomy, humour, artistic workshops and conferences, LEHAÏM offers a joyful and accessible space for encounters, discovery and exchange, bringing Jewish cultures to life within the broader community.
