Vision
BINA Center in Goa is a Jewish-Israeli community and cultural center serving Israelis traveling in India. We provide an open, pluralistic space for identity, community, culture, and resilience during a transitional life stage. Through Shabbat, holidays, learning, dialogue, and the Merhav HaLev resilience framework, we offer a meaningful anchor of belonging and connection for young Israelis abroad.
Activity
BINA Center in Goa operates as a year-round Jewish-Israeli community and cultural hub for Israelis traveling in India, with core programming concentrated during the October–April peak season. The center provides an open, pluralistic, and welcoming space where young Israelis and families can connect with Jewish-Israeli identity, culture, community, and one another.
Weekly activities include Kabbalat Shabbat gatherings, Jewish holiday celebrations, Israeli national days, experiential learning workshops, cultural events, facilitated dialogue circles, and community gatherings. Programs are designed to be accessible and relevant to Israelis at different levels of Jewish engagement and during a transitional stage of life.
A central dimension of the activity is the Merhav HaLev (Space of the Heart) resilience framework, which is integrated throughout the center’s programming. Through facilitated conversations, reflection, movement, creative activities, rituals, and opportunities for connection, the framework supports personal and communal resilience and provides participants with tools for navigating uncertainty and change.
The center operates from a dedicated rented community space and is supported by Israeli emissary staff working on-site, with professional guidance and supervision from Israel. Through this combination of community, culture, learning, and resilience, BINA Center in Goa provides a meaningful sense of belonging and connection for Israelis far from home.
