Vision
To create a space where individuals living with post-trauma can reconnect to life—through meaningful farm work, healing routine and a supportive community.
Inspired by the vision to “beat swords into plowshares” (Isaiah 2:4), we transform pain into growth—on land and within people.
A model of rehabilitation rooted in ecological care, dignity, and hope.
Activity
An Ecological Bridge to Life is a six-month rehabilitative employment program for individuals living with PTSD, following initial recovery. It offers a supportive daily structure on an organic,
community-based farm, where participants engage in hands-on agricultural work: planting, harvesting, packaging, maintenance, and hospitality.
Participants are paid for their work and receive individualized support. Each person follows a personalized plan, with shared milestones in attendance, commitment, responsibility, initiative,
teamwork, and employment readiness.
The project offers a transitional phase between therapy and reentry into society—where healing happens not through talk, but through meaningful action. All activities follow ecological practices: no pesticides, compost-based fertilization, minimal soil disruption, water, conservation, and biodiversity support. This approach reflects our belief that human and environmental healing are intertwined.
In the first year, 10 participants will join. From the second year onward, 10 new participants will be accepted every six months. Progress is reviewed with each participant and their professional
network, and program extensions are offered as needed.
Bar Kaima’s farm environment—grounded, calm, and purposeful—serves as a training ground not just for employment, but for life.
