Vision

Vision: Strengthening Israel-Diaspora Unity
At this critical crossroads following Covid, war, and rising antisemitism, Jewish communities worldwide face unprecedented uncertainty. The Matanel-Amiel Israel-Diaspora Forum envisions rabbis and educators as beacons of hope, fostering proud Jewish identity and deeper Israel-Diaspora engagement. Through strategic analysis and creative planning, we will provide clear direction and practical resources to revitalize Jewish life across Europe, Israel, and beyond.

Activity

This year-long initiative comprises four integrated components designed to strengthen Israel-Diaspora connections and Jewish identity.

In-Person Israel Conference: A three-day, two-night intensive featuring mutual learning sessions, practical workshops, and high-level meetings with leading experts in Jewish peoplehood, demographics, and strategic planning. Participants will visit significant locations including the National Library, Gaza Envelope communities, and KKL educational facilities and meet with communal and political leaders.

Global Zoom Sessions: Virtual calls throughout the year accommodate worldwide participation, combining theoretical discussions with real-world applications. International experts will deliver lectures and lead workshops for the forum participants.

Academic Publication: Each participant contributes a scholarly paper addressing critical issues: identity and belonging, mutual responsibility, leadership, Israel-Diaspora dynamics, antisemitism’s impact on Jewish life, and decision-making strategies. The resulting publication will reach key decision-makers in Israel and globally, highlighting community challenges and proposing solutions.

Community Implementation: Participants commit to applying the Forum’s recommendations within their own communities, ensuring practical impact beyond theoretical learning.

This comprehensive approach creates a continuous cycle of learning, analysis, publication, and action to revitalize Jewish communal life worldwide.
