Vision
In “HEROINES! Songs & Soliloquies for the Soul” we feature songs from our previous biblical shows, and some new songs — about faith, courage, leadership, hope and resilience — and intersperse them with monologues and scenes representing modern-day heroines whose life experiences since Simchat Torah, Oct. 7 2023. echo the themes in the songs, thus joining together the biblical with the modern.
Activity
We planned this show over the course of a year and a half, began rehearsing in June, 2025, and went live on Oct. 22. At the time of this writing, we have five performances lined up – in Modiin, Neve Daniel (Gush Etzion), Beit Shemesh, Raanana (at Matan Hasharon) and in Jerusalem. We are in contact with people in other communities as well and plan, please God, to continue.
The heroines we portray include female combat soldiers, a religious border guard with ten children who rescued young people from the Nova festival, a female pilot, a paramedic, the head of a home security force who saved her kibbutz, a hostage and her mother, bereaved wives, mothers, grandmothers, evacuees, wives of reserve soldiers, women of the IDF Chevra Kadisha, medical professionals and more.
In addition to the women in the audiences who we reach with our message, our cast and crew are involved in the war. There are women with husbands or sons or daughters serving. This project has been, for all of us, a blessing as we have the opportunity to get to know the stories of the heroines whose courage, faith, and resilience are our guiding lights and role models for all of Am Yisrael.
