Vision

To empower at-risk youth in Israel through a therapeutic farm environment that combines vocational training, emotional support, and connection to the land—helping them heal, grow, and integrate into society as responsible, capable individuals ready for meaningful military service and independent life.

Activity

Gal’s Farm is an educational and therapeutic initiative for at-risk youth aged 18–25 from across Israel. Located in the Jordan Valley, the farm provides a structured, supportive environment where participants engage in vocational training in agriculture, construction, and animal care, alongside individual and group therapy sessions. Through daily work with olive trees, date palms, vegetable gardens, and farm animals, youth gain practical skills and develop responsibility, resilience, and self-confidence.

Animal-assisted therapy (zootherapy) is a core component, enabling emotional healing through meaningful interaction with horses, goats, sheep, and other animals. The program also includes preparation for meaningful military service as part of a pre-military academy (Mechina), helping participants develop a strong sense of identity, purpose, and civic responsibility.

Each year, the program serves approximately 70 young men and women, offering them a second chance to build a stable and fulfilling future. The farm’s holistic approach addresses emotional, social, and vocational needs, promoting long-term personal development and integration into Israeli society.
