The Debian Project is an association of individuals, sharing a common goal: We want to create a free operating system, freely available for everyone. Now, when we use the word “free”, we’re not talking about money, instead, we are referring to software freedom.
Activity
DebConf is the annual international gathering of Debian developers, contributors, users and enthusiasts with the common purpose of discussing technical topics, collaborating on joint projects and working on improving the Debian GNU/Linux distribution and its derivatives. DebConf is run on a non-profit basis, and all the organizers work as volunteers without compensation. Sponsors’ contribution makes it possible for them to bring together a large number of Debian contributors from all over the globe. During DebConf they work together, help and learn from each other. The last DebConf, DebConf23, took place in Kochi, India and was attended by 328 participants from over 40 countries.
DebConf24 is taking place in Busan, South Korea from July 28 to August 04, 2024.
