הפעם, קשה למצוא את המילים המתאימות. איננו יודעים איזו משמעות האירועים הפוקדים את ישראל משווים השנה לפסח ובאילו תחושות נסב לשולחנות הסדר. היינו רוצים לשים בצד את השסעים ואת המחלוקות ולחגוג 75 שנה לעצמאותנו ו 3000 שנה לשחרורנו. אבל אנחנו ערים לוויכוחים הפוקדים את החברה הישראלית ואיתה את כלל העם היהודי. ישראל יקרה לנו מכדי לאבד אפילו חבר או שותף אחד, בין אם הוא חולק איתנו את ציפיותינו ואת חששותינו ובין אם לאו. כל מה שאנחנו מייחלים לו הוא להמשיך בשגרת מאמצינו ולחזק את החברה האזרחית הישראלית, להסיר את המרור ולהרבות בתמרים ובוורדים בחרוסת. אנו תקווה שהסדר ישוב על כנו ושנחגוג אותו בשלווה.ה

Dear Friends, Dear Partners,
This time, it’s hard to find the right words. We do not know what significance the events that befall Israel give this year to Passover and with what feelings we will return to the Seder tables. We would like to put aside the divisions and disputes and celebrate 75 years of our independence with 3000 years of our liberation. But we are aware of the debates that plague Israeli society and with it the entire Jewish people. Israel is too dear to us to lose even one friend or partner, whether or not he shares our hopes and fears. All we wish for is to continue the routine of our efforts and strengthen Israeli civil society, remove the bitterness and multiply dates and roses in the haroset. We hope that order will be restored and that we will celebrate the ceremony of the Seder peacefully.
