Vision
To serve as a space for empowerment and the development of leadership, where participants go through a personal and group journey of maturation, identity formation, and value clarification — in preparation for a life of Zionist, Jewish, and democratic social engagement. The goal is to cultivate future citizens who contribute to the building of a model society in the State of Israel and to the improvement of the world.
Mechinat Amichai is characterized by a strong drive for excellence, perseverance, and sincerity, combined with a warm and family-like atmosphere based on simplicity, respectful dialogue, and hard work.
Activity
The Be’er Sheva branch of Mechinat Amichai is located in the Neve Noy neighborhood and operates with a deep connection to the local community. The students are involved in extensive social action, volunteering in various community frameworks and helping local youth prepare for meaningful military service.
This branch emphasizes social involvement, personal responsibility, and leadership through example — alongside deep learning, group cohesion, and a commitment to making a positive impact on Israeli society.
During the year in the Mechina, participants study a wide range of subjects, take part in treks and educational journeys, and volunteer in local schools — aiming to encourage teens to attend Mechinot (pre-army leadership programs) and year-of-service programs before joining the army.
