Thank you very much for awarding SHEKEL – Inclusion for People with Disabilities the
prestigious Matanel Prize!
The April 2022 Matanel Conference was inspiring, stimulating and fruitful, providing
numerous NGOs an opportunity to share ideas.
Every year, SHEKEL provides services for over 8,000 children and adults with disabilities in
order to enable their comprehensive inclusion in the general community. Since its
founding in 1979, SHEKEL has enabled myriads of people with disabilities from across
Israel to live fully within the community by attaining therapy, employment, independent
housing, culture-leisure activity, and full accessibility.
The Matanel Prize, and the April 2022 Matanel Conference in which it was awarded, are
a testament to your tireless dedication, generosity and humility in bringing about the
betterment of Israeli society. Pride in your activities is so well-deserved, as Matanel has
become a trailblazer in philanthropy here in Israel that not only provides monetary
support but partnership, advice, flexibility, and much heart in order to maximize the
effect.
Undoubtedly, other foundations will learn from the Matanel Foundation’s example.
