Vision
The LEAD-Matanel Initiative for the Cultivation of Social Initiatives for the Elderly and the Instruction of English and Science will offer youth in our leadership training program interested in initiating and developing a project in one of these areas, the funding they need. The vision is to help the youth from our program to launch their social programs and positively affect Israeli society.
Activity
The LEAD-Matanel Initiative for the Cultivation of Social Initiatives for the Elderly and the Instruction of English and Science focuses on the practicum phase of LEAD’s program. We are creating a platform to enable youth leaders to initiate, develop and implement social initiatives catering to one of three social challenges: growing distress of underprivileged older adults; decreasing achievements of Israeli schoolchildren in the study of English; and decreasing achievements of Israeli schoolchildren in the study of Science.
The initiatives supported are the result of LEAD’s innovative leadership development model. Our model combines developing “leadership identity” with acquiring cutting-edge tools, while raising social awareness and demanding very high moral standards. It includes 7 leadership seminars, training in regional teams and initiation of social change projects. This model enables the participants to learn and practice important leadership skills such as influencing others, effective presentation, conflict resolution, project management, reflection and introspection.
