Vision
The World Congress of Jewish Studies is the largest gathering of scholars in Jewish Studies and a prestigious international stage for the presentation of the newest research in the field. It is one of the most interesting events happening in Israel in the summer, attracting a large audience of intellectuals, teachers, students, and others interested in all aspects of Jewish Studies.
Activity
The World Congress of Jewish Studies takes place every 4 years. It offers the largest international stage for the presentation of the newest research in the field of Jewish Studies. In addition, the Congress offers a large variety of cultural events, including film screenings, concerts, and exhibitions. At the last Congress in 2017, over 1700 lectures were presented on topics including the Bible, the history of the Jewish people, Jewish Thought, Arts and Languages, Digital Humanities, Latin American Jewish Studies, and more. Approximately 2,500 people attended the 17th Congress of Jewish Studies in 2017. Main objectives:
1) Offer a stage for the presentation of the newest research in Jewish Studies
2) Organize the largest international gathering of scholars in the field of Jewish Studies, advancing cooperation and exchange in the field
3) Promote Jewish Studies to the wide public by inviting an audience from diverse backgrounds to attend the conference
4) Enrich the participants with cultural programs, including film screenings, exhibitions, concerts and more
5) Advance fruitful cooperation between organizations in the field of Jewish Studies
6) Promote the latest publications in the field of Jewish Studies
