Achvat Amim is a leadership program for young Diaspora Jews looking to live in the heart of Jerusalem, take part in a critical learning process, and volunteer with prominent social justice organizations building a more equitable future. Our vision is a reality of peace and justice, within a framework where the full human, civil, and political rights of all people are recognized and actualized.
The program includes core components of language learning (Hebrew and Arabic), experiential learning that explores the realities of Jerusalem from multiple angles and perspectives, communal living, Jewish study and practice, and intensive volunteer work. Participants collaboratively build the learning process according to their individual and collective needs. Communal living practice creates a supportive and safe environment, where participants develop their emotional and practical skills and become empowered leaders with experience creating safe and vibrant community with others. Achvat Amim volunteers work to help primarily grassroots, community based projects which are operating with limited budgets and resources.
