Vision
Leadership in the Field is an educational project whose goal is to create a space where dropouts and teens at risk of dropping out achieve growth and empowerment through agricultural work, personal mentoring, and an unmediated encounter with significant educational figures who strengthen the teens’ sense of belonging and self-worth.
Activity
Program participants are teenage boys and girls from Dimona and the Arava who steadily come to the farm once a week for a day of paid, hands-on work. During their work at the farm, they participate at various junctures in a diverse range of jobs and roles, including agricultural work with a wide variety of crops at different stages of growth, guiding visitor groups at the farm, operating a café, and selling produce.
In all types of work and roles, participants receive mentorship from of educational and professional staff.
