Mechinat Meitarim Lachish for Disabled Cadets

Vision

Cadets will be integral part of the Shekef group. In addition, they will have a instructor that will be dedicated to their purposes and will be guided by professionals as AKIM and others. The program will be mostly joint with the regular program, and where needed there will be a parallel program designated for these cadets.

Activity

Meitarim Lachish has integrated in the last year 4 cadets with disabilities. Including physical and mental diablities. This was done with professional advisors and the physical adoptions needed for their disability in our campuses.

I never lived out of my home with a group of people and now I am OK with it. I never rode on public transportation by myself and now I find myself doing it quite a lot and I find my way with Google maps. In the academy, I am sometimes assigned morning shifts to prepare food for a lot of people and to clean. This is something I used to do at home but not on such a large scale. . .really tools for life

Yaniv Mezuman

Yaniv Mezuman was born in Tiberius, Israel, Served as Paratrooper at 101 unit. After suffering injury,he was transferred to the IDF radio (Galei Tzahal) as a reporter, producer and editor at the news department. Yaniv learned in Otniel Hesder Yeshiva and in “Beit Morasha”. Yaniv holds a BA in International Relations and Middle Eastern studies, from the Hebrew University, Jerusalem, and a MA in Jewish Philosophy, from Bar Ilan University.

In 2007 Yaniv was one of the founders of Lachish Pre army institute and since then he is the director of the mechina. Yaniv published in several poetry magazines such as “Mashiv Haruach”, “Mabua” and was on the editorial staff of some of these publications. In 2015, his book “nativ la’talmud” was published by Matanel Foundation.
