Earth’s Promise-The Communal Garden Kitchen

Israel

Project picture

Vision

Our vision is to promote healthy nutrition and sustainable living among the residents of Israel’s southern periphery. Our project connects people from different cultures and backgrounds to grow vegetables together thus supplying the community with fresh, healthy, zero waste, ecological food.
Through growing vegetables, cooking and sharing meals together, we build a resilient community while celebrating the variety of cultures in the Negev.

Activity

The Community Garden Kitchen takes place in Be’eri farm, an ecological-community farm in Be’er Sheva runned by Earth’s Promise. The farm was founded in 2017 and since then we have been growing fresh and healthy produce with the community, providing courses about ecological gardening, leadership training for volunteers, multi cultural community events and more.
The Community Kitchen is a central part of the farm, and hosts various events and workshops that educate for healthy nutrition and bond the community: Friday dinners, occasional meals at the farm’s community workdays, and big community ‘food saving’ events.
The planned renovation of the Community Kitchen will allow us to widen the activity tol host:
