Aharai! is a social educational organization that develops young leadership and promotes social involvement among youths from the projects, development towns, absorption centers, boarding schools and shelters. By connecting the youths to milestones in Israeli society the organization provides its youths a sense of achievement and capability and encourages them to fit in as contributing citizens in the State of Israel.
The central concept of the movement is to instill a sense of success and ability into the youth with the belief that each and every one of them has the ability to conduct a normal lifestyle as an equal citizen in Israel, regardless of where they were born or the environment in which they grew up. “aharai!”! Operates 8 different projects that established to achieve that goal: preparation for a significant military service in the IDF, preparation for the matriculation exams, immigrant integration programs, youth challenge programs, one year of community service, pre-military academy and alumni organization. “Aharai!” currently operates 180 groups of activity in more than 80 periphery towns. Every year there are more than 4500 youth that participates in the activity and more than 22,000 graduates from 1997 until now.
